Depending on the commercial or residential space, either rolled rubber or rubber tiles may be more suitable.

Rolled Rubber Flooring

Standard widths: 4’ wide, with lengths up to 50’.
Thickness: Commonly 1/4″, 3/8″, 1/2″ for gyms.

Rolled Rubber Flooring has fewer seams, which is better for hygiene and appearance. Additionally, the installation is more secure and permanent, as well as more cost-effective for covering large areas.

Rubber Tile Flooring

Interlocking or Square Edge
Sizes: Typically 24″x24″ or 36″x36″.

On the other hand, Rubber Flooring Tiles are compact and easy to transport. They can be simpler to install than rolled rubber flooring, depending on the conditions of the subfloor. If any part of a tile floor gets damaged, the individual tiles can be easily replaced. Rubber tiles are also preferable for smaller spaces and rooms with irregular shapes.

Rubber Flooring Installation

Rolled Rubber, which is best for larger commercial spaces, will show imperfections like dips, humps and cracks if their are existing subfloor issues. Uneven and unlevel subflooring causes tripping hazards, premature wear or tearing, and water will pool in areas with dips.

Rubber flooring is appreciated for its safety, durability, comfort, and longevity. To fully leverage these advantages and create a clean, modern look, it is advisable to have rubber flooring professionally installed by an experienced flooring installer. Proper subfloor leveling and repairs, along with secure installation and appropriate floor protection and sealing, can significantly enhance the performance and appearance of your rubber flooring.
