During our recent installation at Enzo Condos in Downtown Seattle, we used a 7 1/2-inch wide plank Ingrid by Mirage Hardwood Flooring. We absolutely love working with Mirage products because they are made with high-quality materials and superior craftsmanship, which gives our installations a more luxurious look and feel. Demo & Prep

The initial step for the installation was to uninstall the original glued-down wood floors. Removing glued-down floors requires patience and attention to detail to ensure the subfloor is clean, level, and free of old adhesive remnants. Our top priority is to demo and repair the subfloor because any imperfections left over will result in an imperfect and precarious result after installing the new hardwood.

Cork is an excellent sound-reduction material. It absorbs sound and reduces vibrations, making it an effective choice for minimizing noise transmission between floors in a multi-unit dwelling like a condo. Additionally, cork is a sustainable and eco-friendly material, making it a popular choice for soundproofing in residential spaces.

Metal Cabinet Toe Kicks

This custom feature involves cutting down the metal cabinet toe kicks to reduce the need for additional trim. Customizing the toe kicks to fit the specific dimensions of the space minimizes the gaps that would typically require trim for a finished look. The result is a sleek and seamless appearance while minimizing the use of additional materials.

Install Challenges and Solutions

Installing recessed door tracks requires precise alignment, leveling of uneven surfaces, and diligence when cutting into the floor or wall. Additionally, ensuring secure anchoring and smooth functionality within the recessed space requires careful attention to detail.

The furniture was not removed from the condo, but we were able to accommodate the situation by shifting furniture around. This meant our client did not need to empty the space, which can be particularly difficult for condo owners due to the complexity of moving large items in and out of a downtown high-rise.

Demo and installing floors in a high-rise condo is more involved than working from home in a residential neighborhood. This is due to parking, loading, unloading, noise, and activity. Nevertheless, we completed the installation in just five days with minimal disruption to the client and their neighbors.
